Christmas Mulled Wine Jelly

Recipe by Social Food Project

This Christmas mulled wine is an amazing addition to any Australian festive meal, as a side, as an after-dinner treat, or a gift!

  • 700ml Red Wine
  • 150g White Sugar
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 6 Cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon Quills
  • 1 Orange, cut into segments
  • Black Peppercorns (10)
  • 3 tsp Powdered Gelatine
  1. Combine the wine, spices and sugar in a saucepan
  2. Put onto the stovetop and gently heat the wine until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Take off the heat and let stit for 30mins
  4. Strain off the ingredients and pour flavoured wine back into the saucepan
  5. Add powdered gelatine, put back on a low heat and whisk for 1min
  6. Pour into a jar or container and transfer to the fridge.
  7. Eat once the jelly has set, approx 1-2 hours
