Wholegrain Waffles

Waffles are a delicious snack and breakfast options.

  • 500gm whole grain flour from wheat or spelt, use buckwheat if you are gluten intolerant
  • 1 full teaspoon of organic baking soda (use more if you want them to rise even further)
  • 150 grams of palm fruit oil
  • Coconut oil or butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 900ml milk, use soy milk if you are lactose intolerant
  • 1 tablespoon of natural vanilla essence (use 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder as replacement)
  1. Melt the palm fruit oil in a pan.
  2. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add flour, baking soda, oil, milk and mix through.
  3. Heat a waffle iron.
  4. Pour some of the dough in and cook until golden.
