Get ready to get cheesy – that’s grilled cheesy! Prahran Market’s Say Cheese Festival on 28th October will host Melbourne’s first Grilled Cheese Invitational, where some of the city’s best chef talent will compete for the title of Grilled Cheese Champion 2018 and we’re giving you the chance to be our Wildcard Entrant!

Sponsored by Maker & Monger, the Prahran Market Grilled Cheese Invitational will be held in the Neil Perry by Omega Kitchen at 2.30pm (approx. finish time 3.30pm).

Competitors will have a budget of $100 to buy their ingredients at Prahran Market prior to the event and then just 20 minutes to prep. in front of a live audience before they cook their toastie and present to the judges. And a few lucky members of the audience will get to taste the toasties too!

Judges will award points for the Name, Creativity and Sensory Elements of the toastie. The winner will take home the prized Prahran Market Grilled Cheese Invitational trophy and their toastie will be served at Maker & Monger for the week following the Say Cheese Festival.

Yes, you read that correctly, we’re offering one lucky Festival Fan the chance to compete as our Wildcard Entrant!  That means it could be your name on the inaugural trophy, and your toastie served at Maker & Monger for the week following the Say Cheese Festival.

All you need to do is make sure you are available to participate at the event on 28 October 2018, and then email us at marketing@prahranmarket.com.au with the following information.

  1. What is/are the hero ingredient/s for the toastie you will make if you win
  2. Tell us in 25 words or less what is your ultimate cheese experience
  3. Please include your full name and contact information along with your entry, and please note the Terms and Conditions below.

Competition closes on Wednesday 24 October, with the winning Wildcard Entrant to be notified on the morning of Thursday 25 October.

Terms & Conditions

In conjunction with Maker & Monger, we’re offering 1 person the chance to compete in the inaugural Prahran Market Grilled Cheese Invitational as our Wildcard Entrant, to be held during the Prahran Market Say Cheese Festival 28 October 2018. Prize includes $100 in food vouchers for ingredients and an experience not otherwise available.

Competition closes 5 pm AEST Wednesday 24th October 2018. Winners will be contacted by phone on Thursday 25th October 2018 and may also be announced on our social channels.

Terms and Conditions:

1. The promoter of the Competition is Prahran Market Pty Ltd 163 Commercial Road, South Yarra, 3141

2. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. By entering this competition, entrants agree to comply with and be bound by these Conditions of Entry.

3. The total value of this prize is priceless – as an Invitational, the event is not normally available for members of the public to participate. $50 (produce costs) will be allocated to the winner.

4. Entry is open to all permanent Australian residents who are over the age of 18, currently residing in Australia excluding the directors, management and employees (and all their immediate families) of the promoter and associated agencies.

5. The Prahran Market ‘Grilled Cheese Invitational Wildcard Entry’ competition commences 4 pm AEST 17th October 2018 and finishes on 24th October 2018 at AEST 5 pm.

6. To take part in the Competition, Eligible Participants are required to email Prahran Market, tell us your hero ingredient/s for your competition toastie (25 words or less) and tell us your ultimate cheese experience (in 25 words or less), and provide your contact details including full name, phone number, email and social handles.

7. All eligible entries must be entered by 5pm AEST on the due date of 24th October 2018.

8. No late entries will be accepted.

9. One entry person.

10. No liability will be accepted for late, delayed or misdirected entries.

11. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and the winner needs to participate in the event to receive the prize.

12. The draw will be conducted by and take place at Prahran Market Pty Ltd 163 Commercial Road, South Yarra, 3141 on 25th October 2018.

13. Winners will be contacted by phone on 25th October 2018. The Winners will be announced on 25th October 2018. The winners MUST confirm their acceptance of the prize by return email by 12noon AEST 25th October 2018.

12. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

13. Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, postpone, or amend this competition for any reason. Prahran Market’s decision is final.

14. The winners release the Promoter from any and all causes of action, losses, liability, damage, expense (including legal expenses) cost or charge suffered, sustained or in any way incurred by the winner as a result of any loss or damage to any physical property of the winner, or any injury to or death of any person arising out of, or related to, or in any way connected with the Promoters of the prize.

15. All entry details become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter may use the name and photograph of the prize winner(s) for promotional purposes without compensation unless the prize winner(s) advises the Promoter otherwise when accepting the prize.
