A Spooktacular Feast For All The Senses 

From Thursday, 26 to Tuesday, 31 October, the iconic Prahran Market is transforming into ‘Hall-Oz-Ween’ – a haunted house creating a true Aussie celebration of the spooky season. ​

​Hall-Oz-Ween is set to be the best trick-or-treat circuit in town, with ghosts and ghouls haunting the rafters, a giant praying mantis roaming the aisles, and market stall holders joining forces to showcase an all day feast of spooktacular fun. Exciting options will be on offer for all ages, including a bone-chilling schedule of eerie entertainment and crafty workshops for kids, and a Home Grown cocktail station for adults. ​

​Devilishly delicious bites will both delight and fright, with vendors turning their fantastic fare into thrilling Halloween-inspired treats including:

  • Maker & Monger conjuring up an American cheese toastie with a blood tomato soup dip
  • Oltre’s squid ink tortellini with pumpkin and ricotta, paired with spider web-infested blood orange apple spritz
  • Stir The Pot’s Halloween-themed fairy floss sticks, wagon wheels, cupcakes and marshmallows
  • Naheda’s Choice serving up a devilishly delightful 2-year-old parmesan pesto with blood cherries
  • Arthur’s Candy’s deliciously sweet Trick Or Treat experience
  • Japanese artisan gelato creator, Kori, will be spooking and scooping chilling delights with its pop-up ‘Ice-Scream’ station. Sorbets, plant and milk-based ice cream will be topped with lurid lollies from Arthur’s Candy and made from premium ingredients, no added colours or artificial flavours including Hokkaido Cheesecake, Black Sesame, Matcha, Fuji Apple, Dark Chokoreto, Strawberry Sudachi and its Halloween special – Honeyed Pumpkin and Chocolate

A plethora of other free and thrilling experiences for both adults and children will include:

  • G.McBean Family Butcher’lair, where Edward the Butcher will lay bare skeletons displaying a stomach-churning variety of severed limbs and jelly brains
  • The Mushroom Man, Damian Pikewill be adding some magic to Prahran Market with a whimsical fairy garden where you will find fairies, unicorns and butterflies peering through the forest of mushrooms
  • Mini Marketeers plating up spooky fruit and Hall-Oz-Ween-inspired cooking classes for young market ‘master chefs’
  • Big and little kids can head to Shop Neutral and receive a sweet treat by saying “trick or treat” to their team over the weekend and on Halloween; just make sure to come prepared with a trick! They’ve also got the most ghoulish of decorations for you to take home with you
  • Floral designer Flowers Vasette will be building a life-sized ‘Eat Your Veggies’ witch using Pino’s seasonal avocado, broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, broad beans and artichokes, with her enchanting powers set to compel any child to eat their greens

 

  • An edible version of Snow White’s iconic gown will feature a bodice of blue foiled chocolate eclairs, raspberry frogs and sweet blueberry clouds from Arthur’s Candy, and a skirt crafted with yellow lollipops and Golden Delicious Apples (also from Pino’s)
  • Unexpected fruity characters, crate monsters and petrifying plants watching over visitors, including a Harry Potter pineapple, parsley pirates, fennel fairies, papaya princesses, watermelon witches and superhero spinach
  • Face-painting stations to transform children into tigers, clowns, fairies and monsters
  • Create your own trick-or-treat bag and participate in monster craft workshops
  • Photo opportunities with seasonal fruit-o-lanterns by F&J Fruiterers on the market truck, driven by a skeleton and accompanied by scarecrows made of melons and spring onions, will be deserving of a place on the family mantlepiece.

Prahran Market’s Hall-Oz-Ween extravaganza will run from Thursday, 26 – Tuesday, 31 October inclusive.
