Blood oranges, spring carrots and cheesy delights with the A-Team

Spring has sprung friends, so let us turn our attention to new season’s produce, warmer weather and good times (and yes, this does include our annual Prahran Market Say Cheese Festival – Sunday 20th October!). “What better theme to give this month’s A-Team send-out?”, we thought, as we filled each Mystery Bag with fresh fromage and a few spring favourites. This month we welcomed new guest A-Teamer, Chef Saul Finberg (Dinner by Heston) to the crew, joining Sarah Cooks and Jo from Second Helping in this month’s cheesy challenge.

First into this month’s mystery bag went beautiful, locally-grown blood oranges, and some sweet purple carrots, rich with antioxidants and just so beautiful! We popped in some Jersualem artichokes as well, because sometimes we can’t resist (and we thought it might be a helpful addition for our A-Teamers to work their magic.) And work they did, whipping up fresh salads and sides to complement your spring table.

Any day that includes a walk down Deli Arcade is a good one in our books, so we had fun choosing the cheese. Raclette, you say? Definitely, with some Tasmanian Heidi Farm Raclette (Pete n Rosie’s) – a multiple Australian Grand Champion Cheese. With intense perfume and a mild nutty, milky flavour, it’s the stuff that melted cheese dreams are made of. We spotted some of the lush and creamy Adelaide Hills Woodside Cheesewrights Goats Curd. Enough said.

So there you have it folks – all the cheesy, new season food-spo you need to get you in the mood for spring and Say Cheese 2019. Happy cooking and we’ll see you on Sunday 20th October!
