Naheda’s 5 Minute Halva

Naheda's 5 minute Halva is perfect for feasting or gifting during the busy Christmas period (or at any time really)!

  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1 cup tahini
  • Crushed Pistachio
  1. First, prepare the mould by lining a small square container with cling wrap, leaving extra lengths hanging over the sides. These will fold back over and cover the halva while it sets.
  2. Into a clean bowl, measure out the Milk Powder and Icing Sugar, and quickly mix, leaving a small well in the centre.
  3. Pour in the Tahini.  Mix with your hands until the mixture comes together.
  4. If you are using, sprinkle a layer of crushed pistachios, almonds or another flavour (chocolate chips?) into the base of the container.
  5. Gently press the halva mix into the container. Fold the excess cling wrap over the Halva and refrigerate, applying a weight to the top if you can, to help it set firmly. Leave overnight.
  6. When ready, cut into small squares to serve.
