Forget the large hardware stores, Prahran Market Hardware is your traditional Hardware store in a market environment.
For over 20 years, Prahran Market Hardware has being providing locals with all their hardware needs. Originally owned by Randalls mother Rita, the store was handed onto Randalls older sister, Kate for some years and now to 18 year old Randall who plans to take the store to the next level.
The store offers all your home hardware needs to key cutting and even market trolleys ranging from the standard model for $33 to the popular deluxe European market trolley for $440 - definately for the serious Prahran Market shopper.
Prahran Market hardware is open everyday except Monday and Wednesday.
Avocado

Tomato and Avocado Bruschetta
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado, 4 very ripe sweet smelling tomatoes, 2 tbsp finely sliced basil, 1/2 red onion, diced, salt and freshly ground black pepper, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 clove garlic, finely chopped , 4 large slices of wholegrain bread (or atleast high fibre bread).
Method
Halve avocado, remove stone and scoop out flesh. Dice avocado flesh and place in a bowl. Halve tomatoes and squeeze out as much of the seeds as possible. Discard seeds. Dice tomatoes and add to the bowl with the avocado, basil, onion, salt, pepper, oil and garlic. Toss gently and leave for 15 minutes.
Toast bread lightly and just before serving spoon tomato and avocado mix onto bread. Recipe by Market Fresh
