When is the market open?

The market is open from 7am to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7am to 5pm on Fridays, 7am to 5pm on Saturdays, and from 8am to 5pm on Sundays. We are closed Monday and Wednesday. Public holidays are determined on a case-by-case basis and will be announced on our trading page.

Can I bring my dog to the market?

Dogs are welcome at Prahran Market in Market Square and to transit through all Market precincts except the Deli Arcade. Dogs are not allowed in food preparation areas or within tenancies. We expect responsible dog behaviour at all times and in all precincts.

How do I find out about upcoming events at the market?

All event details are on our Instagram and listed on the events page of our website.

Where can I park?

The Elizabeth Street Carpark at the rear of the Market is the most convenient place to park. Access from Elizabeth Street & Lara Street. No. of spaces: 644 (over three levels)

More information on the Elizabeth Street car park rates can be found at the Care Park website  There is also parking at the 24-hour Prahran Square car park on Izett Street. Access from Izett Street. No. of spaces: 500 (over two levels).

Is there free parking nearby?

There is limited 15-minute free parking along Elizabeth Street. There are also one-hour spaces along Commercial Road, Chapel Street and Barry Street. All are regularly patrolled by Stonnington Traffic Management.

Do you have market bags available for sale?

We have colourful totes made out of recycled material that are available for $5.50.

I want to find out about the market and its history. Do you offer tours?

We hold monthly Foodie Tour, which run for approximately 90 minutes and is packed full of delicious tastings, trader encounters and much more. To find out more about our tours, please visit our Events page. We also have our Prahran Market 150 Year book available for sale, which makes a fantastic gift for any Market lover.

Do you have kids’ activities?

Is Prahran Market a non-smoking area?

The whole market is a smoke-free area.

Are any of the traders licenced?

Wasshoi Bar & Grill, Oltre, Maker & Monger, Pacho Taqueria, and Fatbuoy Seafood are licenced. You must drink near or at the venue on the seating they provide due to strict licencing laws. Prahran Market Pty Ltd also holds a liquor licence for Market Square, where drinks purchased from Blackhearts & Sparrows, pop-ups with appropriate temporary licences, and any other Traders with a General Liquor licence can be consumed. If you are unsure where to sit, the Trader you have purchased from will happily show you.

Who manages the multi level carpark in Elizabeth Street? I lost my pass and need to call someone.

The carpark is managed by CarePark; their number is 9926 6662. There is also an onsite caretaker in the booth located at the Elizabeth Street exit.

Are there disabled parking bays nearby?

There are 12 disabled parking bays in the Elizabeth Street carpark.

Do you have parenting facilities in your market?

We have a secure parenting room that is accessed via Market Square.

I am interested in applying for a permanent lease. How do I apply?

Please visit our leasing page and submit an inquiry.

I am interested in casual leasing at Prahran Market. How do I apply?

Please fill out an expression of interest form which is available for download on our leasing page.

Can I give out promotional material and flyers at the market?

Promotional material that hasn’t been created by Prahran Market Pty Ltd is not permitted to be handed out at any time.

How can I arrange a fundraising stall at the market?

Fundraising stalls at Prahran Market are provided free of charge to local charities and select fundraising organisations. Please email management with information on your charity, the activity you would like to organise, your preferred dates and any other information that may be of benefit when assessing your application. Given the demand, we give preference to Stonnington based charities.

Do I need a permit to film or take photographs for commercial, student or promotional purposes at Prahran Market?

Yes, filming or photography at the Market for commercial, student or promotional purposes requires consent. For all commercial filming and photography, we also charge a location fee. Please email your request to management to find out more.

How can I lodge a complaint?

We are only able to respond to complaints made in writing. Please email management@prahranmarket.com.au or address your letter to: Market Management Prahran Market Pty Ltd Level 1, 163 Commercial Road South Yarra 3141

Can I return or exchange something I have bought?

You will need to contact the stallholder directly. If you do not recall the shop or stall name, please contact the Market Office on 8290 8220 or view our stall finder map .

My band would like to get a gig at Prahran Market, how can we do this?

We host bands in Market Square every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If you would like to be considered for this program, please email management including a description of your band along with a link featuring a soundbite or video.

Can I busk at Prahran Market?

We have a number of locations within the Market that are suitable for buskers. If you would like to busk at the Market, please email management including your desired dates and times along with  a link showcasing your work. You may be asked to audition.

Do you have a lost property department?

Yes we do. If you have a lost property enquiry please contact the Market Office on 8290 8220.

Do you allow visits to Prahran Market by politicians, political candidates or campaigning local councillors?

Prahran Market is owned by the City of Stonnington and is apolitical. Any Members for the area are welcome to visit and conduct a walk-through with management’s prior consent, but we do not permit electioneering and the handout of election material within the confines of the Market property. Any enquiries surrounding this should be made to the General Manager.

Do you allow surveys to be taken at the market?

Consent from management is also required for any form of survey taking, canvassing, polling, donation seeking etc.
