What's in my Market Basket with Lola Berry

I love shopping for fresh produce in autumn (not that I don’t all the time) because there’s so many goodies that come into season.

Here’s a few of my fave autumn ingredients and some interesting health benefits too:

  1. FIGS: I love to rip them in half (lengthways) and top them with tahini or almond butter for a delish snack! Figs are a really great source of zinc which we need for healing and skin health.
  2. APPLES: I love Granny Smiths and use them to make a low sugar, high-fibre crumble, using oats and macadamia nuts as the topping. Keep the skin on for added texture and extra health benefits.
  3. BROCCOLI: Ask any nutritionist and they’ll all tell you broccoli is a superfood hero! Lately, I’ve enjoyed adding finely chopped broccoli to my omelets. Broccoli is full of fibre, magnesium and folate.
