It’s time for the public to taste test and vote for their favourite Market snag in this year’s Sausage Fest competition! Free entry of course.

For the fourth year in a row, Prahran Market’s butchers and poulterers will take part in an epic battle of the barbecues to see who will take out the ultimate title of best Market snag.

Celebrity chef and Market ambassador Tobie Puttock will warm up the crowd before the competition officially kicks off at 12 noon.

Each trader’s competing sausages will be cooked up by a team of highly skilled chefs and shoppers will be encouraged to cast their votes once all varieties have been sampled.

Everyone who votes in the Sausage Fest will go in the draw to win a meat or poultry pack every month for a year to the overall value of $1000. The winner will be announced on the Prahran Market website and via social media channels on Monday, February 5. The winning Market trader will receive a $1000 voucher to enjoy with their team at Wilson & Market.

Prahran Market’s Sausage Fest is a great fun-filled event for the whole family and tasting and voting is free.

Love your snags? Is a hot, sizzling barbecue your idea of the best weekend ever?

Have you ever looked in your fridge, pantry or spice rack and thought; ‘I bet that would go well in a sausage’?

Yes?

We have spaces for 30 lucky people to create their own unique sausage in a super quick, super easy and super affordable workshop as part of our 2018 Sausage Fest.

For $15 a person, we provide you with the pork, casings, seasonings, equipment and helpers to make your dream snag become a reality.

Sound like a good deal? We thought so.

What we provide

Pork mince, sausage casings, seasoning, basic preparation equipment (a knife and chopping board), assistance from our helpers, use of a sausage machine, hand wash, trays and string.

What you need to bring

Your two or three (maximum) secret ingredients. Either pre-prepared, or ready to be chopped on site.

What you take home

1kg of your very own, tied, packed and ready to cook sausage variety.

Each session should take around 30 minutes.
