Hagen's Charity Fundraiser

Prahran Market is proud to support the upcoming Hagen’s Organic Meats fundraiser event, to be held on Saturday 22 September in Market Square.

Raising vital funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, the sausage sizzle and meat raffle has set a target of over $2000. This is a cause very close to the heart of the Hagen family with the event being held in honour of Ruby and Oliver’s father, Royce Hagen, who passed away from a rare blood cancer 5 years ago this December.

You can grab yourself a delicious Hagen family recipe Beef Sausage or Merguez (Spicy Lamb) Sausage in a Hot Dog Bun with Caramelised Onion, Cheddar Cheese, and House-Made Chimichurri Sauce, $5 each. The whole family is getting involved with Ruby and Oliver on the grill and mum Sue overseeing.

“We decided on a sausage sizzle as we make our sausages in-house, to this day we use recipes Dad developed when he opened up the shop (though Olly has tweaked and put his own spin on them over the years).

And, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a snag?” said Ruby. Too right!

You’re going to want to know about the meat raffle too – you can win yourself a fantastic Hagen’s Organic Meats meat pack (pictured above). Valued at $200, the winner will receive a delicious selection of meat, a t-shirt and cooler bag:

There are also second and third prizes valued at $100 and $50 respectively.

Tickets are for sale now from Hagen’s Organic Meats and at the sausage sale for $3 each. The winner will be drawn at the end of the BBQ (see conditions below).

But wait, there’s more…!

Hagen’s Organic Meats is also selling ‘Ode To Royce Hagen’ t-shirts. Designed by local artist Third Edit Professor, the t-shirt features an illustration of a butcher on the back. Hagen’s staff currently wear the t-shirt in store and they are being sold for $30 and all profits are being donated equally to the Leukaemia Foundation and Hagen’s Local Artist Program. The Local Artist Program aims to engage and support local artists in paid work to raise their profile and experience in commercial design for local businesses.

“We are really looking forward to the event and to help raise a lot of money for great causes. The support of Prahran Market means a lot to us – this was the location of Dad’s first butcher shop. Prahran Market has been a cornerstone of our brand since the beginning and it means a lot to have the Market community supporting us,” Ruby concluded.
