The Essential Ingredient Cooking School commenced in 1998 as The Vital Ingredient Cooking School. In its short history it has become one ofAustralia's most prominent Cooking Schools and offers a remarkable opportunity to experience intimate instruction in an inspiring workspace. Classes of various formats are offered including hands-on workshops, demonstration classes and special lunch and dinner events.
The purpose built demonstration kitchen showcases some of the finest cooking talent from around Australia and the world, covering everything from specific culture cuisines, technique based classes and ways to entertain at home.
The Cooking School Schedule is compiled annually and every class is designed to be informative so whether you are a novice or completely kitchen confident there will be something to learn. A relaxed format encourages presenters and attendees to explore and discuss techniques in an environment where questions are encouraged. In this way presenters are not only able to share recipes, but their enthusiasm, passion, ideas and experience during the class.
The Essential Ingredient is located within Prahran Market and houses a state of the art kitchen where some of Australia's finest chef's teach the art of cookery.
