Video- How to – Cook Wagyu Steak

Cooking the perfect steak (wagyu or not) is easy!

Alice in Frames shows us her technique for treating this delicious Wagyu steak with love!

There are a tonne of surefire methods as to the best way to cook up your favourite steak.  Alice in Frames shows us her technique using this delicious Wagyu steak courtesy of Gary’s Meats!

  1. Heat a heavy based fry pan over high heat.
  2. Season the pan with high quality salt
  3. Place your steak on top of the pan and leave for 30 seconds. Flip every 30 seconds onto each side (make sure you pay attention to sides including the strip of fat to render it beautifully) until cooked to your liking.
  4. An average 200g porterhouse will need roughly:
    • Rare – 2 mins per side
    • Medium Rare – 3 mins per side
    •  Medium – 3.5 mins per side
    • Medium – Well 4 mins per side
    • Well – 4-5 mins each side
  5. Rest uncovered for 2-3 minutes
  6. Season with salt and pepper, and enjoy with your favourite sides (we love the ones in the hit list below).
