Parvaneh's hints and tips on what to do with Iranian sun dried lemons
53 Degrees East sell Iranian ‘sun dried’ lemons, and while they look a little odd, they are very easy to use and create a fantastic lemony flavour in a myriad of culinary dishes.
Parvaneh from 53 Degrees East, shares her tips.
“You can use these lemons in many different ways, for many different dishes”
“Poke holes in them and add to a casserole or stew at the beginning of the cooking process for a delicious lemon tang throughout the dish”.
“Or, for flavouring fish, squash them and break them open, remove the seeds and then use the blackened flesh of the lemon to add to your seasoning prior to cooking”
“For something really different, you can use the blackened flesh to make a zesty lemon tea which not only will relax you, but is good for the heart”
And the best part about them? They are naturally dried in the sun, have no preservatives and they last for over 10 years!
